Yat Yi Sam Sei

Four aces card

To some people, the number 4 isn’t a good number. To the Chinese, the number 4 means die or death. To some, “4 letter words” represent vulgar words. There are 4 letter vulgar words that start with A, B, C, D, (err…E?), and the famous “F”.

I don’t know why I came up with an introductory paragraph like that. LOL. Sorry, couldn’t think of anything else. Anyway, pablopabla gave me the link love so I guess I need to do this :-) Below are the 4s about myself.

How To Be A Douche Bag Commentator

There is no doubt that loading up dofollow plugins may increase readership, or at least commentators. However, the disadvantage of it is that you may just get one or two guys who are just commenting for the sake of having a back link to their website or blog. For these people, I would like to label them as douche bag commentators.

Before I proceed, I would like to make it clear that I am not implicating that everyone who comments in a dofollow blog are guilty of this “sin”. I am talking about those who commented even though they have not fully read or understood your post. Here is an example.

Commenting for the sake of a back link

I just loaded up the dofollow plugin in my new blog where I share my favorite music videos. The nofollow tag will be removed when someone leaves at least three comments in that blog. It is still a very new blog with very few viewers.

I got three comments from the same guy (”Mr T”) within four minutes. Mr T may argue that he is a speed reader with excellent typing skills, thus the speed in commenting. However, considering that each of the posts that Mr T commented in has an average of 100-200 words and at least one video between 3 to 5 minutes, I will be truly amazed if his commenting was sincere.

I have removed all of his comments. Do you have the same experience as I did? Mind to share it?

New DoFollow Blog In Town, Oops! I Did It Again

Oops! I did It Again

A few weeks ago, I hinted that I was setting up a new blog. It took some time to choose a theme that I really liked. In the end, I chose sodelicious2 green 2.0. It is quite a nice looking theme but required some tweaks. Lots of them. In fact, this theme required the most tweaks compared to the other themes that I have worked with. And this is not a good sign.

There are still a few things that I need to change with that theme. I will work on it when I have the time.

Let me introduce you to my third self hosted blog — Vocal Junkie dot Com. It is a place where I will blog about the kind of music that I enjoy. Everybody listens to music. Everybody enjoys music. So, head over there now and enjoy the few music videos that I have chosen.

That blog will be running with the new dofollow plugin. The nofollow tag will be removed after the third comment. So, leave as many comments as you want. Don’t forget to subscribe to the feed as well. Thank you very much and please support ya! :-)

Niamah! WTF Is This?

I was scanning through my blog stats yesterday and noticed a new referral link from www.computerhelp.co.cc.

Illegal linking from another blog

I was quite happy at first thinking that one of my posts could have been selected and shared due to its usefulness. When I clicked on the link, I saw the screen below.

Screenshot showing computerhelp linking to my post

I thought there was a mistake so I refreshed the page. The same blog (which is mine) came up. How in the world did this happen? Why the link above connects to my guide on how to remove the skype virus? I checked the source code of the website and it looks like the owner used frames to embed my post into their website.

Well, at least they did not steal my content by ripping it off and posting it up as theirs. However, does this consider as “stealing”? It does confuse others into thinking that the URL above is somehow related to my blog. Bah. It is not like my blog is famous. Why mess with my blog?

103bees: How To Make F Streamyx Faster

I have been using 103bees.com to track my blog’s stats for a month or two now. Although I do not fully utilize its features, I do enjoy occasionally checking out what others are searching for that ended up on my blogs. I checked it again a while ago and saw the information displayed in the screenshot below.

How to make F Streamyx faster?

I really shouldn’t be surprised. Are you surprised? I wonder when TM Net will upgrade their Streamyx broadband to something more presentable. I do hope that WiMAX’s launch in middle of 2008 will finally see some improvement in the broadband service in Malaysia. I do not dare to put too much hope in it though. Someone might just search for “How to make F WiMAX faster?” and land on one of my posts in the future!
